Description
ALGIGONE is dry powdered concentrate, which is mixed with water,
and applied to building surfaces so mold, mildew, mosses and lichens
microbiological growth can be removed using high-pressure water.
ALGIGONE works quickly, and, even, the heaviest growth can be
easily removed using it. ALGIGONE renews the appearance of mold
& mildew covered building exteriors, roofs, walks, patios,
drives and decks and other surfaces, making them look like new.
Features
Convenient dry concentrate formula is economical too use. Compared
to liquids, it is easier to store, costs less to ship and has
a longer shelf life. When mixed, ALGIGONE readily dissolves in
water, and because it is engineered to be fast acting, their is
no long waiting period before rinsing.
Easy to Use
ALGIGONE does the work removing mold & mildew. After mixing,
all it needs to do is be applied, given time to work and rinsed.
ALGIGONE begins working immediately when applied, and surfaces
are usually ready to be rinsed off in only 5 to 10 minutes.
Technical Information
Appearance/Odor: Dry granular white powder/Very
strong chlorine odor.
Packaging: Available in 5 gal plastic pails containing
40 lbs of material.
Coverage: Depending on how heavy the growth and
the porosity of the surface being treated, between 250 and 500
sq. ft. per gallon of mixed product can be expected.
Storage: Keep in sealed container and store in
a cool well ventilated area away from combustibles.
Shelf Life: In unopened containers, approximately
two years.
Precautions
ALGIGONE damages aluminum and plants. Cover any aluminum to protect
it, using EZKleen’s Peel Clean Plastic Strippable Coating
or thick plastic film and plastic tape, and protect vegetation
by covering it with plastic sheeting. Other adjacent surfaces
should be wet down with water, and if ALGIGONE contacts them,
they should be immediately rinsed.
Application
1) Mix ALGIGONE concentrate with warm water to make desired amount
of product. After completely dissolving, solution is ready to
be used.
2) Prewet treated surfaces with water, and then
apply ALGIGONE mixture using low-pressure spray. A pump up sprayer
or electric prep pump, operated with a saturation nozzle, is used
to apply the material in a wet soaking type fashion. Airless sprayers
are not recommended because they atomize solutions.
3) Allow time for growth to turn brown and rinse.
This usually takes 5 - 10, and the easiest way to rinse is with
a pressure washer. If one is unavailable, surfaces can be scrubbed
with a stiff bristled brush and then rinsed. ALGIGONE mixture
is designed to be rinsed off after it has completed working, and
it should never be allowed to dry on surfaces.
Flatwork
A power-painting roller can be an ideal way to apply ALGIGONE
on walks, driveways, patios, plazas or other large flat surfaces.
Units can be fitted with large commercial size rollers and then
mounted on extension handles. This allows users to rapidly apply
material without wasting a drop and eliminating all overspray.
Sealing
After being removed from masonry, mold and mildew can be prevented
from reoccurring by sealing stone, brick and concrete surfaces
with EZKleen’s Clear Cladding formula.
Limitations
Though ALGIGONE effectively removes mold and mildew, it is incapable
of deep cleaning masonry surfaces. In the event embedded dirt
and grime are affecting the appearance of stone & brick surfaces,
EZKleen 100 Stone Cleaning Formulations can be used to clean them
and make them look like new.
Safety
A dust mask should be worn to prevent inhaling dust while mixing.
Wear rubber gloves, safety goggles, and ventilate enclosed areas
when handling ALGIGONE. Keep off clothing, and if ALGIGONE gets
on skin, rinse thoroughly with water. If it gets into eyes, rinse
them with water for 15 minutes and see a physician. ALGIGONE is
a chlorinated product, and it can release poisonous gas if mixed
with some cleaning products. See Material Safety Data Sheet for
more detailed hazard evaluation and safety information.
Environmentally Safe
ALGIGONE is biodegradable, contains no phosphates and readily
deactivates after application. When used properly, it poses no
threat to the environment. Dispose of all wastes safely according
to federal, state and local regulations
