| What is Efflorescence?
Efflorescence is that white powdery stain that makes expensive, exterior
masonry and grouting look like the building has grout that is weeping
all over the building. The efflorescence comes not from the stone but
from the mortar or grout and is indicative of water leakage. EZKleen
CSP attacks the calcium (cal cades) and weakens their hold on the stone
without harming the stone itself.
Seal and Protect:
In order to ensure that cleaning the masonry never again needs to take
place, the masonry is sealed with PWP (Penetrating Weather Proofer)
clear penetrating water repellent. This treatment does not alter the
color or texture of the surface nor affect the vapor transmission qualities
of the substrate. When PWP is applied, the solution penetrates the substrate
and reacts to create a powerful barrier against water penetration. This
barrier is not sensitive to ultraviolet and weather deterioration like
some other water repellents. PWP resists water intrusion, stain damage,
and freeze thaw spalling, as well as efflorescence, fungi, mildew and
rust.
